I’ve been telling you about how much I love surfing, bla bla bla, but I’ve not posted about it yet.

I started surfing 10 years ago, I was 19 and had just finished the first year of what we call classes prépa (preparatory classes for engineering schools that run on 2 years and finish with a public exam) and had just stopped my swimmer career. I was living a big stress and one day after watching the infamous Blue Crush, I had the magnificent idea: why not surfing? it looks fun, relaxing and sexy!

At this time, even there were many surfers and surf schools in Morocco, it wasn’t very popular among big cities. I remember that when I asked my mom about it, she told me: “Are you insane? Focus on your studies!!”, dad was more “Why not? As long as it doesn’t affect your studies!”. And here I was having my first surfing class that 2004 summer, after my first day in surfing school I rushed to the administration and asked if I could come every day…

Fast forward to today, 10 years of surfing, a surfing husband, 4 national contests, many crazy surf trips that I’ll tell you about soon (3x Bali, Sumatra, Canary Islands, and much more to come), I am more engaged than ever and still getting better.
